Mexican Independence Day

Saturday, September 16th


Viva la fiesta! Central Park in Albert Lea is the place to be on September 16th as we celebrate Mexican Independence Day. The festivities kick off at 11 AM and keep on rollin' until 8 PM. Get ready to satisfy your taste buds because food vendors will be on site, dishing up delicious Mexican cuisine that'll make your taste buds do the salsa.

But that's not all, folks! We've got bingo and games going on all day to keep you entertained. And the pièce de résistance? A live band featuring the one and only DJ Charly, set to take the stage at 6 PM. So bring your dancing shoes and join the fiesta – it's going to be a Mex-cellent time!

Big Island Rendezvous

October 7th & 8th


Ahoy, mateys! Prepare to set sail to a different time at the Big Island Rendezvous on October 7th and 8th. It's a historical reenactment like no other, where you can immerse yourself in the life of the 18th and 19th centuries. From fur traders to soldiers, craftsmen, and entertainers, you'll meet characters from the past who'll take you on a voyage through time.

City Wide Fall Garage Sales - October 12th - 15th

Bargain hunters, this one's for you! From October 12th to 15th, Albert Lea transforms into a treasure trove of deals as the City Wide Fall Garage Sales take over. Get ready to hunt for hidden gems, rare finds, and maybe even a little DIY project waiting to happen. It's a shopping spree like no other! City Wide Fall Garage Sales

Get ready to hunt for hidden gems, rare finds, and maybe even a little DIY project waiting to happen. It's a shopping spree like no other! #SaveTheDate



Shop Sip-n-Stroll

Saturday, October 14th


Mark your calendars, wine enthusiasts and shopaholics – October 14th is your day to shine. It's the Shop Sip-n-Stroll event, and it's going to be grape! Here's how it works:

  1. Purchase your Stroll Bag from the AL Main Street office at 132 N Broadway. Sales open on October 2nd, and they're as limited as your self-control in a chocolate store. Your Stroll Bag comes with a double-wall stainless drink tumbler, free goodies, community discounts, and your 2023 Sip Passport.

  2. On the day of the event, which is October 14th, stroll downtown with your tumbler and Sip Passport from 10 AM to 3 PM. Each participating store will have a drink station and store specials waiting for you. There will be 10 Sip Stops and pop-up shops for you to explore, so stay tuned for the 2023 passport destinations – they're coming soon!
