The Backdrop for Community Events

Albert Lea’s lakes are the backdrop for some of the community’s most beloved events throughout the year. Celebrate summer with the spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks over Fountain Lake, lighting up the night sky at 10 p.m. This annual celebration is proudly hosted by the Albert Lea Chamber of Commerce.

From May through August, enjoy the Thursdays on Fountain Outdoor Concert Series at Fountain Lake Park Gazebo. Presented by the Albert Lea Convention & Visitors Bureau and Albert Lea Recreation, these free concerts bring live music and community together every Thursday evening.

Cycling enthusiasts look forward to Rock-N-Roll the Lakes, a fun bike event circling Fountain Lake every second Saturday in August, also hosted by the Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Winter doesn’t slow the fun with The Big Freeze Winter Festival, held the second Saturday in February at Fountain Lake and Edgewater Pavilion. This all-day event offers outdoor activities and community spirit in the heart of winter.
